Duplex Steel Sheets & Plates are manufactured from a mixed microstructure of approximately equal parts austenite and ferrite. This dual phase composition combines the toughness and corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel with the high strength and stress corrosion cracking resistance of ferritic stainless steel. The alloy typically contains chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and nitrogen, which enhance resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride induced stress corrosion cracking.
